If you’re decking surface oil or stain has gone beyond simply beginning to fade losing its shine and has in fact begun to peel, gone powdery, showing uneven UV damage or wearing off resulting in the decking timber being exposed to weather, the only remedy is to have your outdoor decking area resurfaced.

Resurfacing differs to resealing in that resurfacing requires the previous deck coatings to be completely removed from the decking surface via a combination of chemical stripping, sanding and timber enhancement and cleaning treatments prior to re coating and sealing.

Deck resurfacing is extremely challenging work and should never at any time be undertaken by DIY’s, or local “jack of all trades” handymen as any missteps in the process will permanently damage you’re decking and / or home & gardens.
